A psychological posture is a particular approach one takes to something and the Philogynist’s posture is one of receptivity to women and their agency and power1. An image that evokes this sense-felt posture is the maturation and picking of fruit. Take pair harvesting where signs of maturation and picking methods include: "gentle" cupping, noticing a “slight” give when squeezing, a “firm and swollen” fruit, and an "easy" pull from the tree.
A Philogynist takes the metaphorical posture of a pear readying for picking. This is a posture of receptivity and discernment, to a woman’s ideas, concerns, agency, and power. However, this is a receptive not passive attitude towards women, for an optimal time to pick the pear is when it’s ready to be picked. So while the Philogynist is receptive, the Philogynist may not be ready for picking. This allows women to engage at will while remaining clear and discerning in your readiness to connect with them.
“This is a posture of receptivity and discernment”
Be aware that picking a pear too early can result in a “hard,” “sour,” and “unpalatable” pear, and picking too late can result in a “soft” and “mushy” pear. The optimal picking time is when the pear is “firm” and “swollen.” So a Philogynist’s posture is firm with respect for oneself; and swollen with love and admiration for women (think expanding arteries and increased blood flow to genitals when aroused). In addition, this is a posture of vulnerability. For example, by figurately replacing the pear with genitals, the Philogynist is now in a very vulnerable yet potentially pleasurable position.
So, the phylogynist's posture is one of receptivity and discernment. A hearty receptivity does not force an outcome but responds naturally and actively to what is felt.
Power can be defined as “The ability to influence and control others. In feminist theory, power can be viewed as domination or empowerment” and agency is “the capacity to act and make choices, free from the threat of violence or retribution. In feminist theory, agency is often expressed through decision-making, leadership, and collective action” (Generative AI, Google)
